Black Prism by David Lippincott (1980)
Chad Lefferts is a theoretical physicist whose research has contributed to the discovery of many black holes. After gaining recognition in the scientific community, Chad is offered a job at Yale University. Lefferts accepts the offer and moves to New Haven with his wife and six-year-old son. Once there, the physicist begins to experience inexplicable epileptic seizures and is tormented by nightmares, the main theme of which is the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire during the reign of Tiberius. Meanwhile, someone in the area begins to commit ritual murders. Could it be that all these events have something to do with the old, forgotten monastery that sits at the back of the Lefferts family home?
