I am currently re-reading Adam Nevill's first novel, Banquet For The Damned. One thing I had completely forgotten about it is that one of the central characters, Eliot Coldwell (a creepy, degenerate academic with a very shady past and one now almost-forgotten "cult" book to his name), owes something to Wilson (or at least to his writing). This is what Nevill says: "I'd like to acknowledge The Outsider books and ideas of Colin Wilson not only for the comfort and confirmation they still give me today, but for being the inspiration behind Professor Eliot Coldwell". Wilson also provided this for the blurb inside the book: "an impressive piece of work... full of marvellous things."
