There are great characters in fiction who have taken on literally lives of their own. So much so that biographies have been written about them. Please list some below. To begin we have:
Sherlock Holmes of Baker Street: A Life of the World's First Consulting Detective by William S. Baring-Gould. A 1962 fictional biography speculating, amongst other things, that the American detective Nero Wolfe was the child of Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler.
Please share with us the odd and unexpected facts that are revealed about the subjects of these revealing tomes.

Does Michael Dibden's The Last Sherlock Holmes Story qualify? Dr. Watson reveals the sad truth that the master detective was aka Jack the Ripper. The success of Jane Austen & Seth-Grahame Smith's Pride & Prejudice & Zombies (2009) spawned Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter (2010), Queen Victoria Demon Hunter (2009) and, no doubt others. Couldn't cope with any of them, though we got a jolly thread from William Codpiece Thwackery's Fifty Shades of Mr. Darcy.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't fictional biographies of Frankenstein, or Dracula, or other famous horror figures. Things with big fandoms, like Lord of the Rings, would seem fertile ground for this sort of thing.

Things with big fandoms, like Lord of the Rings, would seem fertile ground for this sort of thing. Fred Saberhagen - The Dracula Tape: Bram Stoker's propaganda novel from the POV of the grossly misrepresented King Vampire. And: Peter Tremayne - Dracula Unborn. Vlad's autobiography, translated by Van Helsing.
