In my opinion its a very underrated tv series that, despite a very vocal fanbase sadly got cancelled with a rush job to conclude with answers. Aside from the rush ending, the series is comprised of 2 seasons. Its a tale of good versus evil, set in the dustbowl era. The list of actors has some welknown names amongst it

I know nothing about this I'm afraid (naturally). However I have noticed that the title song/music (never heard it) was written by two ex-members of Prince's backing band The Revolution. Wendy Melvoin, the guitarist, and Lisa Coleman, the keyboard player.
Edited to say I see they did the music to Heroes too. Which I also haven't seen, but seems very popular.

I wasn't aware that Carnivale was underrated--over here (US), it was regarded as quite exceptional and was "critically acclaimed" (see blurb on link below). I never saw any of it because I didn't subscribe to the service it was on (HBO, I think?). (Usual rant: some years ago I completely abandoned watching all current TV. Just too disappointed when I bothered to view a couple of current series back circa 2010-'15-- Sherlock, the Cumberbatch/Martin Freeman one, and Penny Dreadful are the ones I recall--and both went spectacularly and yet boringly off the rails and I was done. That's how I remember it anyhow. Whenever I read about currently chi-chi series it always seems to wind up that the things started up very promisingly, and then wind up having a really naff, rushed and/or botched concluding sequence--and my theory is that a lot of the producers and writers of these things no longer have any interest in telling stories that are remotely comprehensible. It's all absurd twists that are presented as shocking innovative but are trite and lightly repackaged blobs of ye same old shite. End of rant.) My friend Peg co-edited this book about the series. I think it has a fairly active fandom. www.goodreads.com/book/show/23235581-carnivale-and-the-american-grotesqueIt seemed from what I read at the time that the set-up was suggested by a Ray Bradbury novel of long ago--but no doubt I've got that wrong. H.

Modern shows seem to be running around, something has to happen every five minutes, incomprehensible rubbish. Like Doctor Who, which I don't understand at all and is utterly beyond me. But mostly it's celebrity (D-listers I've never heard of) junk that they force feed the viewer. Even worse are the Internet influencers, who do nothing, literally.
Modern life is rubbish, as the album (which I've just started listening to) says.
