No. I just enjoy the poetry and sometimes, the prose. I think I will leave it at that.

I didn't care for the Simon Iff stories of his I read, I thought better of the ones in Golden Twigs. Based, for anyone reading this who isn't aware, on Frazer's Golden Bough, which in the arrogance of youth, I once intended to read through in its entirety.

So much ecstatic, surging LOVE here for the Waterboys Pan song. Well here's another one, The Pan Within -

Words by John Whiteside Parsons from his prophetic text We are the Witchcraft:
When man was born, we were. We sang the first cradle song. We healed the first wound, we comforted the first terror. We were the Guardians against the Darkness, the Helpers on the Left Hand Side. Rock drawings in the Pyrenees remember us, and little clay images, made for an old purpose when the world was new. Our hand was on the old stone circles, the monolith, the dolmen, and the druid oak. We sang the first hunting songs, we made the first crops to grow; when man stood naked before the Powers that made him, we sang the first chant of terror and wonder. We wooed among the Pyramids, watched Egypt rise and fall, ruled for a space in Chaldea and Babylon, the Magian Kings. We sat among the secret assemblies of Israel, and danced the wild and stately dances in the sacred groves of Greece.
In China and Yucatan, in Kansas and Kurdistan we are one. All organizations have known us, no organization is of us; when there is too much organization we depart.

Using a tablet can have disadvantages over a keyboard. As I often find out.

I haven't read it, but Jack Parsons was an interesting character. Here's the Claypool Lennon Delirium -
Because he started with experiments in the backyard, Jack Parsons As a little boy already went a bit too far But the trouble really started when he found another young arsonist Because together they were ready to reach the stars
How high (How high) Does your rocket fly? (Does your rocket fly) Better be careful boys You just might (You just might) Set the world on fire (On fire) You better be careful boys, you'll set the world on fire
So Jack became a loyal follower of Mr Aleister Crowley He took an oath to be a Magister Templi And after one of his alchemical magical ceremonies They found his body in a pile of blood and debris
How high (How high) Does your rocket fly? (Does your rocket fly) Better be careful boys You just might (You just might) Set the world on fire (On fire) You better be careful boys, you'll set the world on fire
Do what thou wilt (Do what thou wilt, do what thou wilt, do what thou wilt) Love is the law (Love is the law, love is the law, love is the law) Do what thou wilt (Do what thou wilt, do what thou wilt, do what thou wilt) Fly me to the moon, (Fly me to the moon, fly me to the moon, fly me to the moon)

I haven't read it, but Jack Parsons was an interesting character. Here's the Claypool Lennon Delirium - He had links to L. Ron Hubbard. Apparently, after Hubbard had entered his saviour stage of self-belief, he decided he was worthy of the Nobel Prize for Literature. His plan to get it involved finding dirt on the committee members and blackmailing them.

I haven't read Sex and Rockets. I've only read Jack's own writing--I have the book Freedom is a Two-Edged Sword, along with printouts of Jack's letters to Cameron (I'd buy an actual book if I could find one that included the complete text of these, just to have them on my shelf), and the book Songs for the Witch Woman which includes drawings and poetry by Cameron and some texts by Jack.
There's a tacky mini-series about Jack and his original wife that ran for a couple of seasons, Strange Angel. Periodically I contemplate watching it, though I know it will simply result in my yelling at the viewscreen until I have to take another blood-pressure pill. So it goes.

Swan, this is an awesome arrangement of the Epitaph of Sekilos by the late drummer and Priestess Layne Redmond. Very evocative. I love the entire album Invoking Aphrodite--I play it a lot in the mornings while getting ready for work. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XJZHZ_54Rocheers, Hel

He had links to L. Ron Hubbard. Yes. Ironically, Parsons seems to have been rather weak-willed and easily manipulated. I seem to remember that Hubbard made off with Parson's girlfriend (I think he married her) and his life savings.

This was recommended to me as one of the better football songs, after England's deeds of derring-do. I have no idea who they are, obviously, but here we go! I am hearing for the first time here! Let's find out how good it is shall we?

It's strangely awful yet compelling. One of them, Glen or Chris had all the animation of a zombie in this video, he didn't seem to want to be there. I hope he was more active on the soccar pitch.
Edited to say one of the comments is: This still cracks me up. Hoddle is really giving it some serious welly, while Waddle appears to be having a Vietnam flashback.
