Has anyone seen this adaptation of Percy Bysshe Shelley's early Gothic novel Zastrozzi: A Romance? I recall the book as not being particularly good, but then he was aged only seventeen when he wrote it. A Channel Four Films production. 1986. Consisting of four 52 minute episodes. Updated to a contemporary setting.

Hi Princess,
Wow, that's quite intriguing. I never heard of it. I live in the US and I am not sure it was ever seen here, but I was living abroad for several years in the 1980s so perhaps it was.
And with Tilda Swinton! I wonder if it has ever been seen since?
Welcome and cheers,
Helrunar

No, I've never seen it - but there are a few short clips scattered about YouTube, including a couple with Max Wall as a priest. It looks very weird - maybe a bit Peter Greenaway.

Intriguing, Dr Strange! Saying something is evocative of Peter Greenaway definitely captures my attention. Which is peculiar as I've only ever seen a couple of Greenaway's films, but the ones I have seen are mesmerizing. My favorite is The Draughtsman's Contract.

I've only seen a handful of Greenaway's films myself. The Draughtman's Contract was the first one I saw, on TV (Channel 4 again) sometime in the 80s, and is probably the one I enjoyed the most. I liked Drowning By Numbers too, just not quite so much. Others I've seen are The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (great title) and Prospero's Books, but maybe that's about it. This is all more than 30 years ago, and I don't think I've watched any of them more than once, but they definitely left an impression.
