August 2021
Lockdown's a crazy thing. You say you're doing two books this year, but really, why not three?
So am unveiling a 'lost' Edwardian/Georgian author called J Morton Lewis who wrote from 1909-1936. Found a fair bit about his life, even though it was quite hard going but he's never been reprinted (to my knowledge) and found enough genre/crime/sinister stories to make it worthwhile. Also appears he tried to create his own Sherlock Holmes with a detective called Browning and that'll be a nice addition to the detectives written during that period.
Stories are:
The Image of Gaudama The Mystery of Bassover House Superstition of the Seventy-Sixth The Unseen Hand The Shrine The 3rd of October The Indian Idol Bishop’s Sacrifice Mariette’s Revenge The Glass of Sauterne Melisande of the Mill The Man Who Was a Coward The Mantle of Elijah Haney’s Secret Crime A Duel of Brains The Lady of the Woods The Stranger The League of Seven Sentence of Doom Cornered Over the Wires Bad Bargain The Unknown Man The Dance of Ninon Arcadia Five-Thirty At Charing Cross After 10 Years A Tangled Skein Villiers’ Masterpiece The Anniversary The Work of Art “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” Return of the Failure Lilies and Roses The Great Bank Robbery
The bottom half of the contents may change - depends on how much work I get done on it, but yes, Noose & Gibbet coming back was the last thing I thought would happen, but I'm very glad it is.

Still hoping to do it at some point although if I do, I would have to charge £30 for the book due to current crazy printing (which I would hate as all of my books have been £12 and £20 since 2010). I don't have OCR to get the stories transcribed, and when I do it by hand my ADHD brain loses interest. And that's where we are at the moment. Hopefully once the British Library books comes out I'll get back on it.
