Snooker on telly in the black and white 60s. Now THAT'S funny. Great story! H. Yes, and one of the first programmes to be broadcast regularly in colour in Britain was "The Black & White Minstrel Show"...

That's both hilarious and classic.

I wonder if the stray surviving episode of Late Night Horror will be released on a 2021 edition of Short Sharp Shocks. I did not pay any mind to this when it came out last year as I wrongly thought it was a selection of contemporary short horror-themed films and frankly, most contemporary horror fails to interest me at all (there are a few exceptions). It turns out the disc was a compilation of randomly surviving teleplays from the period of the 1950s through the 1970s. H. Short Sharp Shocks is an excellent collection, and hopefully there will be further volumes. The films are all short supporting cinema features rather than television productions, from the time when the main film would have one or two short items on the bill too. The first volume is an eclectic bunch, some outright horror, some weird and wonderful, but all interesting. If/when the existing Late Night Horror is released, it will likely be on the DVD label of the archive TV organisation Kaleidoscope, who recovered the film print. They have already released DVDs of some archive finds with shows starring Frankie Howerd and others, as well as a DVD with a couple of horror episodes titled Rare Chills. There was a colourised clip from the Late Night Horror episode in a short feature on colourisation on their YouTube channel - coloured by the same guy who recoloured the Valentine Dyall trailer, and some recovered clips from missing episodes of the Peter Cushing Sherlock Holmes series. Sadly the colourisation feature was removed due to copyright issues (the Holmes clips are still on their YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiRAIhq0GG8 ). Whether this means there are plans to release the episode in a colour version remains to be seen.
