Author James Gunn died a few days ago. Though he's generally known for his science fiction, I'm more familiar with his Unknown-style "logical fantasies" such as "Sine of the Magus" (later expanded into a novel, less cleverly titled The Magicians), "The Reluctant Witch" and "The Beautiful Brew," all three of which were collected in The Witching Hour. He also tried his hand at horror with "Feeding Time," which appears in 100 Hair-Raising Little Horror Stories. This James Gunn was apparently no relation to the identically-named director.

I just have the The Witching Hour on my desk. This is sad. R.I.P. James Gunn.
