The Cult Files (Silva Screen, 1986) You have to be careful with this one. There's a US version (1996) which substitutes much of the Brit stuff and therefore lessens the appeal considerably. If you want groovy 'sixties and 'seventies themes plus some spooky film soundtracks this is as good a place as any to kick start your collection. Disc 1:The X-Files: TV version UK TVThe Prisoner The Saint: Opening & Closing Theme Danger Man Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) The Avengers: Pre-Credits & Theme Jason King The Persuaders Blake's Seven Red Dwarf Doctor Who Adventures Of Robinson Crusoe Alfred Hitchcock Presents US TVHawaii 5-0 Perry Mason A Man Called Ironside Kojak Mission: Impossible Star Trek Seaquest Babylon 5 The X-Files: Complete version Disc 2: Film soundtracks 2001: A Space Odyssey ( Also Sprach Zarathustra) Excalibur ( O Fortuna from Carmina Burana) Alien - End Title Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome Body Heat The Omen - ( Ave Satani) Halloween Assault On Precinct 13 Blade Runner Batman Superman The Shadow The Rocketeer Heaven's Gate Legend Somewhere In Time Taxi Driver The Pink Panther The Blues Brothers- ( Peter Gunn Theme)

I recently re-bought this album - and it sounds as good as I remember. It's worth having for the sublime suite of themes from 'The Adventures Of Robinson Crusoe', and the complete version of the theme to 'Red Dwarf' The orchestral themes are by the always top-notch City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, whilst the electronic themes are realised by Mark Ayres, of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. The sequel album to this one is 'The Cult Files: re-opened [catalogue number FILMXCD 191]. It's equally as good. If you have tolerant neighbours, both these albums sound fantastic when played very, very loud.

Hey, where's Joe-90? Surely the funkiest fabest theme tune ever composed. In fact, where's any of the uber cool Gerry Anderson themes?

Disc One, Track 13: Main Theme, Track 14: Hijacked, on the sequel disc 'The Cult Files - Re Opened. That's where the 'Joe 90' theme is to be found. There is a whole segment of Disc 1 devoted to the music of Barry Gray created for the shows of Gerry Anderson. Hope this helps.
