Adrian Savage – Symphony(Pocket Books, 1992, copyright by Joe Serrano, 277 p.) COVER YOUR EARS, THE SCREAMING HAS BEGUN …
In the recesses of a meat plant, he subjects his victims to inhuman torture, forcing them into acts of searing, horrific cruelty in the last minutes of their lives … When their corpses begin to litter New York's streets, the city seethes with a wave of unexplained, violent deaths. A helpless police department turns to Helen Singer, a specialist in serial murder.
HE SENDS HIS FOLLOWERS OUT INTO THE NIGHT …
Knowing that the villain she seeks is worse than anything, Helen turns to another evil: Prometheus Faust, a Satanic priest and cult leader who was once a cop and is now locked in a mortal struggle of his own.
THEY COME BACK WITH THEIR VICTIMS
The policewoman and the devil worshipper join forces to explore a netherworld of darkness, gruesome rituals, orgies, black magic, and murder – searching for the golden-haired man who is behind the spree of torture deaths. Aided by his disciples, the killer is composing his masterpiece: a symphony of screams …
This is one of those too good to be true back texts which the novel never can live up to. I can't remember where or why I bought this. (Sometimes I have the suspicion that the books on my shelf mate in the night and produce offspring to drive me crazy). I never read this. I stumbled upon it after doing the Saul and thought it might be Vault fodder. I started it and it sure gave me chuckle or two on the first 20 pages. At first impression this is a profiler/serial killer guru novel and nothing supernatural. I see if I can manage a running commentary on this while reading half a dozen books simultaneously.

Sounds like a "fun" topic for a short horror story...Enjoy (if that's the word) all your reading material....
