Charles L. Grant - The Curse (Major Books, 1977) The new tenants Syd and Theresa Guiness got out of their crowded city appartment and moved to a quaint house on a quit cul de sac in the suburbs. Their dreamhouse. Then little things began to happen. Theresa was certain it was just her imagination and didn't pay much attention ... until it was too late - the dreamhouse had become a nightmare. This is the first novel of Grant. While it was never re-published it still got a second edition 1979. This edition fetches a nice price today, if you can get it, but it was made avaiable as a Kindle with the usual lousy cover for a nice price. The blurb on the cover is a bit bold, as Grant was used to be hailed as the master of the "silent horror" ie slow and often a bit boring and bloodless. I have to confess I never read this, but still aim to.

The cover reminds me of the one for the novelization of The Dark.
