Long time lurker, but first time messaging. I know this is a massive shot in the dark, but I've been trying to find a children's book/story I read in the early 90s that made a massive impact on me. I can't remember anything related to the title, but even though I remember reading it in the early 90s, I guess it could have also been published in the late 80s (it looked like a relatively modern book at the time). It centred around a child who begins to suspect there's something 'off' about Granny. Anyway, it materialises that Granny is indeed a little 'off'. It absolutely petrified me when I read it all those decades ago. I think one part in particular, regarding Granny walking up the stairs, stayed with me for years after. I'd love to try and locate it, so if anyone thinks they might have a clue, please let me know.
