Great illustrations Dem! Thanks for posting. Now I have a hankering to re-read "Two Bottles of Relish" & "The Seventeenth Hole..." Just finishing off an Elliott O'Donnell binge so no need right now for more of him....

Thanks, Andreas. Not sure if there are many/ any more to find as, unlike with the Not At Nights, few of the stories seem to have seen magazine publication (quite understandable in some cases, where the big mystery is how they ever saw publication at all). Mrs. Everett - The Death-Mask ( Shivers, 1932) Steve Stapleton (H. D. Everett, The Death-Mask and Other Ghosts, Ghost Story Press 1995), and another W. K. Starrett's beauty for Tod Robbins' Toys of Fate, ( Munsey's Magazine, Jan. 1921)

Everett - myself and Melissa Edmundson will be working on expanding Richard's amazing work on The Death Mask - I've uncovered around 10 'lost' supernatural stories written by her - we'll be working on a book for Valancourt later on this year, I think.

I hope this is a good a place as any to put this - sure Dem will move it if it isn't - some really cool news - I've been working with Tartarus Press on a collection of Tod Robbins' work and have written an 8k biography on him for the book - it's published this coming Friday. For those who are interested the link is HERE

It looks marvelous! I think I read "Spurs" back circa 1974--in a Peter Haining volume of stories that were adapted for horror films (of course, "Dracula's Guest" was included; wonder just how many books he put that one into). I could be misremembering. It was a long time ago.
Such a handsome volume, and although I barely know anything about this author, it's a pleasure to see such erudite, elegant folk making a beautiful book to honor and preserve his literary legacy.
cheers, H.

I made sure that Haining was absolutely namechecked - it was him more than any anthologist that made sure Tod's name was remembered in the 70s - his use of 'Spurs' in 3 different anthologies - but loads of printings of them etc - made sure that his name wasn't being forgotten about. Also mentioned Ramble House etc.
