The official handover has happened, and now the admin for G&S will be dealt with by the excellent (not to mention saintly) Mark and Jo Valentine. They'll be sending out my final, double issue 36/37 in the next few days. (I've retained a few copies for when I get orders for back issues.) Now it's over to James Doig of this parish, the first guest editor for the Spring 2020 edition (he's already started work on it).

Yes, it's coming along nicely - hopefully enough people resubscribe to make it all viable!

Mark and Jo, being super-efficient, have posted them all together, so Zadoc Zyzygy will get his copy just as quickly as Aaron Aaronovitch.

I can never remember if my subscription is up to date ( I want it to be) because I can't immediately pay by paypal, but have to remember to send a cheque etc I forget about Rosemary's reminders Apart from a few people, almost everyone will be due to renew after this new double-issue. But the good news is that you'll be able to pay by Paypal. There'll be a flyer about it in with your copy.

My contributor copies and accompanying booklet arrived today, so I'm looking forward to delving in properly later. Though I may take my time over the double-issue, as not only is it packed with fascinating looking stuff, there is the significance of it being the last under Ro's stewardship - though I look forward to seeing it continue under its excellent guest editors.
(Okay, so maybe I did read one thing as soon as the envelope was opened. There was a particular book review I was keen... or perhaps anxious... to read, and I'm extremely happy with it. PHEW! And proud to have had something reviewed in G&S.)

I've sent you a private message with Mark Valentine's contact details, but I may have done it wrong (or conceivably I've sent it to everyone here by mistake!). Let me know if you didn't get it.

I did wonder about a column, but I've only got the title so far: "Lady Wardrop's Notes". Glad you were pleased with the review: Andy really enjoyed the book (though he didn't actually discuss my favourite part of it - you know which I mean).

To my horror the envelope was rain (or flood?) damaged. However, only the letter about subscriptions etc wrapped around the magazine and booklet was slightly dampened. With foresight like this, I think I'll renew my subscription (as I have since 1985!).
