Twisted #6 (1991) This thread started with a mag called TWISTED. Well, here's an earlier different mag altogether! Not sure if this was its last issue or not. Cover: Allen Koszowski Contents of this issue in detail posted HERE some time ago. Editor: Christine Hoard
Strix #5 (1997) I have six issues of this lovely horror mag, up to #17 in 1999 when it may have finished. Run by the incomparable Sue Phillips and Anna Franklin. Cover has the signature 'T. Moss' This issue has work by Peter Tennant, John Harrison, Tony Gent and others.
Ah Pook Is Here #5 (1994) Mastermind: Jon Summers Eclectically dark. Cover: ? Contains work by Robert W Howington, Richard May, Geoff Stevens (of Purple Patch), Stephen Thorne and others
Alternaties #13 (1993) Editor: Mark Rose Front cover: Desmond Knight (see also 'The Stygian Dreamhouse') This contained my story ‘Salustrade’ that was chosen by Karl Edward Wagner for the last of my five consecutive appearances in YBHS (brag brag!) Also work by Andy Cox, Fiona Horspool and others.
Aberrations #35 (1995) A long-running mag of the nineties. I recall this mag was originally called 'Abberations'! This cover: Mark Grosskopf Managing Editor: Richard Blair (Tony’s brother?) Contains work by William Orem, Kent Brewster, Virginia Kidd, interview with Neil Gaiman plus more.

I'm building a raft out of Anne Rice's The Witching Hour, Des - I knew it would come in useful for something - so if you could see your way to parking the Ark off the coast of our Godforsaken Polynesian island I'd be obliged ....
Just the one for the time being.

The Cauldron: Editorial news and our readers express their opinions
If you're especially unfortunate, I might have more mindless drivel to post about this at a later date as it's a storming issue. The return from the wilderness of David Case is cause for celebration alone but there's also a modern classic (I mean it, maaan) from Richard Christian Matheson - all two pages of it. Then there's shudder pulp veteran Hugh B. Cave's revelation of what happened After The Funeral when the deceased Reverend's son stumbled upon his fanatical father's secret porno stash - and far, far worse. I don't recall the Tremayne and Etchison stories offhand but I'm sure they were tops.
That Aberrations cover is a bit good, BTW.
From the first, I set myself against "literature"; the story was the thing, and no amount of style could persuade me to select a story that lacked genuine, unadulterated horror. For those who wanted something high-brow there was plenty.
I'm bored with Parking the Ark; I'm setting off again; but I'll keep an eye out for Dem's raft meanwhile.
Two pairs today!
