If you're right in remembering Heroes still being around in the 90s then it looks to have been in existence for a bit longer than either of us imagined. Not sure just how legibly this is going to reproduce but here it is listed in the classifieds from an issue of Marvel UK's The Daredevils from 1983. And the striking thing is just how far from alone it is. Amazing to be reminded of just how many outlets there once were of this sort dotted around the country. All long gone now I guess. I'm particularly aggrieved that I was oblivious to the existence of The Edge of Forever back in the day. That's where all my pocket money would have gone had I known about it. Anybody else remember the place?

Wow, hadn't realised Heroes was going from (at least) '83. I worked Sundays in the Cheshire Street bookshop on-off between 1989-90, so can confirm Heroes saw in the 'nineties, though I'm not sure how long it lasted beyond that point. No surprise that bar the obvious three, 'Fantasy Centre,' 'Forbidden Planet' and 'Heroes', I don't recognise any of the shops advertised. And there was a second Count Dracula Fan Club? As if the original NY-based sweeties weren't bad enough.

Revived as part of a BBC Gothic Season in 2014, Dan Farson's fascinating 47 minute documentary The Dracula Business (1974) includes a minute or so's footage shot inside Dark They Were And Golden Eyed. It's still available to watch on iPlayer HERE, though you'll need to register. Thanks to Filthy Steve for putting us onto it. Initial reactions here.

Thanks for the snap. I don't think folks in the US can access the video part of the iPlayer, though I'm very grateful to be able to "listen again" to radio programming via that specific utility of the site.
