After a few years away, Bedabbled! British Horror and Cult Cinema is now back, albeit in a slightly smaller format than the last issue. Bedabbled!#1: Redux is the long-promised reprint of (most of) the first issue, originally published back in 2011. With brand new cover art by B! contributor Sarah Morgan, this A5, 36-page special edition features the original reviews of Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny and Girly, Blood on Satan's Claw and Bloody Kids. And in keeping with the original theme ('Bloody Kids'), there are additional reviews of Baby Love, The Damned, Absolution and Unman, Wittering and Zigo.
Price: £4.00 (including postage).

Dreadful Sacrifices at Retford Library
On Monday 31st October Bedabbled! editor Martin Jones will be giving a talk at Retford Library between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Dreadful Sacrifices will walk the audience through the horror cinema of the 1960s and 1970s, always within sight of Hammer Films, but sometimes wandering down paths less travelled: taking in the actors, directors, producers, musicians, locations and of course films that emerged during the rise and fall of the British film industry. Expect an entertaining evening's discussion of all the cult favorites and a few of Martin's personal choices (Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny and Girly being one, obviously).
Tickets: £2:00. To book please telephone 01777 708724 or email retford.libraryATinspireculture.org.uk (substitute AT with @ )
Please note that this event is for adults only!
From the first, I set myself against "literature"; the story was the thing, and no amount of style could persuade me to select a story that lacked genuine, unadulterated horror. For those who wanted something high-brow there was plenty.
