"The Paperback and Pulp Fair, formerly held annually at the Park Plaza Hotel in Victoria, is going to be revived later this year. It will be held on Sunday the 30th October at the Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, Russell Square, London WC1H 0DG. It will be held in conjunction with a book fair run by Etc Fairs which is also held at the hotel on that day, and at which dealers will be selling books, ephemera and postcards. More details will follow soon. For more information, email Neil Pettigrew on harry.np@virgin.net. Prospective dealers should contact either Neil, or Kim Jeffrey of Etc Fairs (info@etcfairs.com)."
Good news!
Please start spreading the word so we can all support this and make it a success.

Will do! Brilliant news! Well done to Neil and Kim for reviving it. Perhaps we could use it as focal point for another Vault gang get-together?
Justin, re: other business. Been a hectic month due to real life stuff, but will get back to you next week!

Mr Fanatic. Next time you're in touch with Neil, and assuming he's not already done so, you might like to suggest he put together some promo material - a postcard, poster or something we can circulate via social media? That should boost the interest.

There's never been anything official, you understand, but in previous years the pulp fairs drew small pockets of us to same venue at same time, likewise the surreal Basil Copper A Life In Books launch, and at least one other BFS-hosted event on Fleet Street. So if you're up for it, this year's SodCon will be held at the Royal National Hotel and neighbouring off-licences & park benches on Sunday 30th October.

Getting to London at a weekend by train has been an utter pain in the arse of late, due to the apparently sisyphian nature of what is cryptically known in the railway business as 'improvement works'. But assuming they've sorted themselves out by October, I'll certainly try to pop up for this.

Always was a great book fair, with bargains galore. Last time I went Basil Copper was doing a signing. Too bad I'll miss this one, but I'm thousands of milesmaway these days....

A reminder that there's little over a fortnight to go until the seismic event, and, no, I'm not talking Halloween (hijacked by corporates & yuppies, along with everything else that was any good). Support the London Paperback & Pulp Fair on Oct. 30th! A bit more info here! London Paperback And Pulp Bookfair/ Bloomsbury Ephemera Fair

Good point. Where's the nearest Wetherspoon? I can think of one about ten minutes trot down along Kingsway. Any nearer?
