Hi all,
I stumbled across this forum quite recently and immediately liked what I saw. I have been a reader of the genre for quite a while, my 'go to' favourites being James Herbert and Stephen King. I'm now however at a point where I would like to delve deeper and discover some new material, as an aspiring writer, I'm always looking for all the inspiration I can get my hands on, so I would definitely appreciate some recommendations.
The darker the better.

Greetings! I've found this forum one of the best guides to the genre around! As for a recommendation, I think the first writer I really enjoyed after getting into King and Herbert was Stephen Laws. His short story Junk is quite a ripsnorter, and of his novels Spectre was my fave.

Welcome to the asylum. As I've warned many others before you, time and again, this place will point you towards all manner of interesting stuff and, in so doing, will put your wallet under serious pressure. But did they listen? Oh no, they just carried on regardless, like teenagers warned not to spend Halloween night in the old abandoned house on the hill....

Hi persephone Thank you for joining and I hope you enjoy your time here. My recommendation would be you check out our most recent advent calendar, HERE and, if you like that, work back through the rest. Chances are you'll like enough of what you read to explore further, and then you're in for a wonderful (if wallet busting) adventure. Beautiful avitar, btw.
