I've Only read 5 or so Smith books thus far, so I'm far, far from a expert....but of what I've read I'd say Thirst is the most gory thus far. What does everyone else think?

I'm sure most of the folks here would say his Crab books have probably the most gore. Although he does throw some around in Wolfcurse, Slime Beast, Alligators and Cannibals. One of my personal favorite books of his mixes the gore with pus too. Big thumbs up there.

Well I can't say I have ever been asked that question before. And although I think your tongue is in your cheek when you inquire I will have to say The Festering is probably one of the biggest candidates. The Thirst books add a bit. Maybe The Brain Eaters too. Infected by Scott Sigler. But perhaps the champion of them all is Hutson's Breeding Ground. Pus, Blood Gore and that one throws in Slime too.

I have read around a dozen or so GNS novels, so not really so many given his prolific output. Overall, the Crabs books were the goriest imo, though I have yet to read Thirst and The Festering. I have to agree that for sheer gore Shaun Hutson stands head and shoulders above GNS in his descriptions--he rarely leaves much to the imagination, though I am basing that on his earlier novels as I have not read much of his more recent releases.

Thanks for the tips Erebus...I've not read The Festering so I'll check that out, and I'll also read up on more details about The Brain Eaters & Infected too....Oh yes, Breeding Ground is great!!( one of my fav Hutson books).....and honestly my tongue was no-where near my cheeks( oh err)- I was generally interested!
