Guy N Smith has produced many pieces of work that span a vast variety of Genre, from Western, Horror, living off the land, Gamekeeping, children's fiction etc. His work has also appeared in School text books. Here is a story that was originally produced in Country Gentleman magazine (year, edition unknown). The story is called Seagull Pool and appears in Communication Practice in Written English produced by Oxford University Press in 1977. The story is of the narrator discovering a large pool on a farmers land and upon investigating finds seagulls, unusually, have taken up permanent residence on this landlocked pool. The farmer then recants a story to the narrator about his Uncle Reuben who came to live with him following a life at sea and spent everyday at the pool. Upon his Uncle's death the seagulls appeared and have lived there ever since. The narrator reflects on whether these are the spirits of the Uncle's seafaring comrades. The text book then asks the student various questions about the story's narrative and how the scenes are constructed. There is also a teachers marking book for the units Lets hope this post is grammatically correct!

Lets hope this post is grammatically correct! It depends on what you mean by "grammatically." There are misspelled words, missing apostrophes, spurious capitalization, and at least one word that is used incorrectly ("recant"). Well, you did ask! Wait a minute, maybe you did not, after all.

Thats an interesting piece. And one I never knew of. And not a giant crab in sight amid that large pool. As for the grammar thing, don't concern yourself. I am a total pathetic disaster in that department.
