Noose and Gibbet (2013/14)The cover on the left is being reproduced for the N&G paperback - right hand side shows the current clean up and sharpening we are doing from a crappy photo of the book... CONTENTS:Re-twisting the Clay - Johnny Mains Frank Walford and the ‘Blue Mountaineers’ - Jim Smith The Reception of Twisted Clay - James Doig Twisted Clay - Frank Walford So yes, TWISTED CLAY is finding a new home with Noose and Gibbet! Published with the permission of Walford's family and with brand new essays from Walford expert Jim Smith and the Vault's very own James Doig who was instrumental in getting this book to me. Hoping to have this book out at the end of this year or the beginning of next at the very latest - the cover restoration is a slow process and the designer is doing in amongst his daily grind, but we're getting there. Here is the back cover - which is taken from the back cover to ANOTHER book - this was the advert for it - and as soon as I saw it, I knew it would make an excellent back cover:
Just wanted my own copy of the book after searching for it for so many years!

That's great news, Johnny. Twisted Clay is massively entertaining and deserves to be revived. You can count me in for buying a copy. The front and back covers look excellent. Thanks to you and James for making this happen. For the curious, there's a discussion of Walford's bizarre masterpiece in, of all places, the Charles Birkin bibliography thread.

The cover looks grand - from the Claude Kendall US edition of 1934. Kendall, who published some great books, was murdered in 1937 in a hotel room in New York - the crime is still unsolved. He had a sheet wrapped around his neck, and died from shock and hemorrhages caused by repeated blows to the face and neck. According to witnesses, Kendall took a "slightly built youthful white man" to his rooms around 3.30am and from about 4.30 to 5.30 loud thumping noises were heard from the room - the man was never found.

So, here we go...TWISTED CLAY will now be the first book out through the REMAINS CLASSICS line, here is the cover, front and back. Will be released in a matter of weeks. There have been MANY publishers trying to get their hands on this, I'm proud to have brought this neglected book back to life. ISBN is a dummy one for time being.

This is excellent news for anyone who loves 1920s novels with funny, sympathetic teenage lesbian heroines who also happen to be psychotic killers.

It's now been proofed, and will be sent to the printer's shortly. Will stick up an Am*z*n link once it's done. Really proud of this one!

Good news! Hopefully they'll add the great cover at some point - always a lure for book buyers.
