Is it a hangover from the survival battles in the savannah or does it go deeper and further back than that in our evolutionary heritage? Unchallenged, the locusts, the maggots, the worms, the flies, the aphids and the termites may consume and destroy all that we have and hold dear.Creeping, slithering, crawling horror, science fiction and fantasy stories by nineteen of today's top authors. Creeping Crawlers, Edited by Allen Ashley, ISBN 9780957296220. Stories by Adrian Cole, Storm Constantine, Dennis Etchsion, Andrew Hook & others. WANT JUST THIS TITLE? The byways of this city, unnamed narrow passageways and dark canals, dislocate the explorer from reality. There are strangely ephemeral sounds, snatches of music, odd cries, shadowy half-glimpsed figures passing over crumbling bridges. And perhaps some of those visitors are not simply tourists! Phantoms, serial killers, the possessed, plague victims and the devil incarnate join the throng of shades and monsters in 10 disturbing tales set in the world's most romantic city. Phantoms of Venice, Edited by David A. Sutton. Limited edition hardcover (200 copies printed). Stories by Brian Stableford, Peter Tremayne, Conrad Williams, Tim Lebbon & others WANT JUST THIS TITLE? IT'S YOURS FOR £17.00 POST FREE Worse Things Than Spiders------------------------------------------------------------ Samantha Lee can tell a great story, be it heart-rending horror or charming jokey fantasies, such as 'Take Five' and 'Scoop'. These will be a little light relief from the razor-edged terrors in other stories such as 'The Island of the Seals' and 'Nobody Thinks He's a Bad Guy'. She has a way of depicting torture and cruelty with a sharp eye on humanitarian issues. These are dark stories indeed, told with just the right dollop of horror to unnerve the reader. I have been waiting for the Wade book forever! Announcements for The White Road and the Wade retrospective on the same day? Amazing! Mr. Happy Am especially pleased that this new incarnation of Shadow Publishing are now considering non-fiction. Maybe after Ro's book, Mr. Sutton might consider a compilation of his own writings or a Voices From Shadow II ?

At the moment it's looking like 46 pieces, ranging in date from 1985 to 2017 (I couldn't bear to see anything earlier than that reprinted!!!). They're from G&S, the G&S Newsletter, a variety of introductions and afterwords, and a miscellany of articles from my Everlasting Club zine, Lady Wardrop's Journal. All will be revised and updated, with extra material in some cases. This is the most enjoyable project I've tackled for ages!

Oh dear - well, there goes my plan to use the title The Black Pilgrimage. The actual title will be The Black Pilgrimage and Other Explorations. Of course, there's no copyright on titles... To be honest, the novel I planned with that title has developed so far from my original idea that I've abandoned the title. No copyright on them, as you say! Not least The Hungry Moon!

Of course, we will have the full title and sub. on Rosemary's book of essays... So Ramsey, hope the ghost of MRJ isn't influencing your black pilgrimage decision! Or perhaps there's some MRJ bedevilment afoot!! Perhaps a writer of essays on a certain highly regarded weird fiction writer might figure in your pilgrimage?😨
