PS Publishing (August 2013)Cover will not be a million miles away from this The Sorcerers: The Original Screenplay by John Burke - edited by Johnny MainsIntroduction - Jean BurkeIntroductory Essay - Dr Matthew SweetThe Sorcerers Discord - Johnny MainsSorcerers Treatment - John BurkeSorcerers Screenplay - John BurkeThe Sorcerers Happening - Ben HalliganOriginal DVD linear notes - Kim NewmanMichael Reeves Biography - Tony EarnshawSo yes, one of the very many reasons I've been away from the Vault for so long. I'm very proud to announce that PS Publishing will be bringing out John Burke's original screenplay to THE SORCERERS. This is markedly different to the filmed version. I have amassed a stellar line-up, reprinting Ben Halligan's essay from his Michael Reeves bio is brilliant, as is getting everyon else on board. Complete with some lovely stills and never before seen contracts and letters and it's turning out to be the best project I've worked on to date.

One of my all time favourite movies, perhaps even because of the tight, almost non-existent budget.

One of my all time favourite movies, perhaps even because of the tight, almost non-existent budget. Well, hopefully this should be a must for any fan of the film - it's been a joyous, but rather tiring project - just tracking down the rights to everything...

Agree with you there, David.
Well done Mr Mains!

There were rumours of a remake a couple of years ago... Danny Dyer was in the frame for the Ian Ogilvy part. I kid you not.

The book is now out - I've still to receive my contributors copies - but Stephen Volk has posted this picture:
I'm the happiest man on the planet at the moment. Though I really do wish John were still here to share this.

I ordered a copy earlier today. Shipping to the U.S. was only 5 Quid. Am I the only person who is very surprised that this ended up being a hardcover with dustjacket? I was positive that it would have been strictly an oversized softcover, but am glad that I was wrong. Looks good, JM!

From the very first that was the way we wanted the book to be.

Mains,
The book arrived today and it is fantastic! Thanks for your efforts in getting this published. The publisher forgot to put a number in the limitation page/box, so I'll just write in #2, since I'm sure you own copy #1. The packaging was also excellent; impossible for the book to get damaged or wet unless a steamroller ran over it.
