Alan Ryan - Cast a Cold Eye (Tor Books 1984, 350 pages) The remote western coast of Ireland: a place of rock and mist and lashing waves, where the old customs and the oldest fears are still alive. Jack Quinlan, an American writer, is researching a book on the horrors of the Irish Famine. As the days pass and the longer nights, the darkness of history parts ... only to reveal an even greater darkness in the present."Alan Ryan is one of the brightest ligths of the new generation of horror writers."- Peter Straub The times of the horror boom when mainstream success was just waiting around the corner ... I have zero collection on this except rhat it was pretty mellow. But it sure has a nice cover,.

I read DEAD WHITE last year and yes, it was extremely mild. Not bad though. This one's on my shelf too, I'll get to it sometime.

Thanks for that, Andreas. Nice art.
The review from 2013 makes the book sound quite interesting, too!
