Tracked Tim down to Ireland a year or so ago and interviewed him as much as I was able - he was suffering from dementia. Was still able to send off my Pan Horror with his story in which he signed.
Sympathies to his lovely wife Freda, who was doing an admirable job in looking after him and was very lovely to me.
R.I.P. Tim

Tim Stout has passed away. Announced on the Brit Horror Films forum. Very sorry to hear that! I met Tim a few times back in the day. One time I was sitting in the Macabre coffee-house in Soho and Tim and a noisy bunch of guys came in and disappeared down into the basement which I had never seen open before. I thought maybe I'd stumbled onto a meeting of a secret cult. Turned out that Tim was hosting journalists for the launch of his magazine, Supernatural Horror Filming. I recall him saying that if the mag wasn't a success he planned to move to Mexico or somewhere in that part of the world. I don't know if he ever made it over there.

Makes me wish I too could have occasionally hung around coffee-houses like that. Not quite the same in Lancashire!

never did manage to land Tim's collection Hollow Laughter, but i'm sure the stories there-in would have been super fun if they are anything like as memorable as The Dracula File, still my favourite film crew in peril short, Wake Up Dead ('Thomas Luke''s barking Phobia in miniature), the aforementioned Boy Who Neglected His Grass Snake and the best of his work for the Richard Davis edited Spectre series. for some reason, his work puts me in mind of Don Glut's - a head on clash between camp and horror - though Tim's work has the nastier edge. i'm very sad to learn of his death.

I am hoping that someone on this thread may be able to help. I am trying to find the person who owns the rights to Tims works as I would like to do a public reading of one if his stories at a charity ghost stories for Christmas event in Brighton which is rising funds for a food bank. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction.

Sadly, my research hasn't turned up anything helpful. Tim was published by Abelard, I believe, but they no longer seem to exist as an entity, and I've no idea if they were subsumed. Sorry!
That said, if it's of any use to you, I could let you read a Christmas tale of mine free at the event.

I would like to use a story by Tim Strout for a German Fanzine of mine. I was told that somebody on this board has connections to a family member of him. Could he or she get in touch with me, please. Would appreciate any help. Thank you.
