"There's also the little matter of me looking more and more like the cannibal with each passing day."
Now there's a role model worth following!
Time for another watching of Death Line, though. It's long overdue. Must be at least 6 months since the last. That and Night of the Demon.
Though I now have a growing fondness for a new movie - and American too: Zombieland. Not in the same class, of course, but it's the funniest zombie film I've seen so far. And it does have Woody Harrelson from Cheers and Bill Murray playing himself!

i've always had a soft spot for James Manfred, OBE, the bowler hatted, Soho-trawling perve (now there's a proper 'seventies stereotype) who gets offed pretty early on. i've long fancied doing a photo re-enactment of his seminal MP-leaving-Sex-Shop moment when i visit Lovejoys for some Wordsworths, though the wardrobe is a major stumbling block. Good use of the word "seminal" there!

I'm probably one of those demonic munchkin creatures from that TV movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark only a lot bigger and less malignant. ;D

BTW Mr. Probert, is that you in your avatar or a young Ray "Dracula" Reardon?? Most appropriate picture, either way...

I suppose it IS a little small to make out that it isn't a 70s / 80s snooker player posing next to a gravestone. For a different version of the pic it's on the back of my book Wicked Delights

I have long modelled myself on Inspector Calhoun (Donald Pleasance) from Death Line. The resemblance is now almost perfect. i can think of far worse role models from Death Line. i've always had a soft spot for James Manfred, OBE, the bowler hatted, Soho-trawling perve (now there's a proper 'seventies stereotype) who gets offed pretty early on. i've long fancied doing a photo re-enactment of his seminal MP-leaving-Sex-Shop moment when i visit Lovejoys for some Wordsworths, though the wardrobe is a major stumbling block. There's also the little matter of me looking more and more like the cannibal with each passing day. I think that seeing as Lady P and I have thrown down the gauntlet with Corruption I think The Vault of Evil's version of Death Line would be bloody brilliant. I'll play the cabinet minister if Dem wants to murder me

i'm your man Lord P! i reckon i could play just about any of the low-life characters you care to mention from Death Line clone Creep, including the heroine, on the grounds that i looked in a miles worse state than her returning from a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds gig at Brixton.
