Yeah, Monster Mag was the home of the "GIANT SIZE PIN-UP - OVER 2 FEET X 3 FEET. OPEN IT OUT IF YOU DARE." You can download at least one issue in variety of formats via the treasure trove that is Archive.org Thank you, Dem. Yeah, they were huge. Pretty sure all the ones I had were of scenes from Hammer films. Thanks also for the link. I can remember hardly anything about the mags contents so it will be interesting to see one again after all these years. Unfortunately it's sample pages rather than an entire issue but at least they give something of the flavour.

Great link. Thank you. The mass of comics here featured is overwhelming. I read about a few, books like Misty or Eagle, but to see actual covers is educational. Not mention all the magazines. This will give hours of lecture.

"lecture"? It certainly is a gold mine. "Lecture" is a French word meaning "reading." I knew I should have put it through the translator. I meant reading.

Apropos of nothing, I like the German term "belletristik." Ah, Belletristik, derived from the French belle-lettres. The "fine literature". Basically this is the mainstream, entertainment except genre. (But including the crime novel. Nowadays crime and thriller is part of the mainstream.)

I'm still a little lost as to what years Monster Mag was originally publishing. First I picked up was issue 6 - anyone know when that hit the newsagents?

Must have been 1975 or so. Here are some reprints. The store is recommended, bought regulary there in the past.

I was wondering what age I was when I first bought them! I know exactly how difficult such a thing is. I have done this kind of thing often in the recent past, trying to piece things together with the help of books I bought and still own.
I should have heeded Mina Harker's advice and kept a diary. But I was too lazy. In hindsight I kick myself that I didn't jot a few words down when something was important. Nowadays I can't remember or put a date on it. It is sad.

So many UK mags from the 70s have no copyright years in them - infuriating now!
