R. Chetywynd-Hayes' Clavering Grange storiesIn THE DARK MAN Chetwynd-Hayes first introduced readers to the haunted mansion Clavering Grange; since then he has written more than half a dozen other books (the most recent being the novel THE HAUNTED GRANGE) about the building or the tainted ground on which it stands, spanning the centuries from Elizabethan times into the far future. His dream is for a producer to film THE CLAVERING CHRONICLES: "We can work our way through the centuries then," he points out. "It would run for a long time".Stephen Jones & Jo Fletcher - A Writer In The Dark Lands, Skeleton Crew, Sept. 1990. The Dark Man (aka And Love Survived) (Sidwick & Jackson, 1964) Tales From The Other Side (Kimber, 1983: Tor, 1988 as 'The Other Side') Woodwork - 1850 Bricks And Mortar - 1969 Loft Conversion - 1980 Labour-Saving Devices - 2000The King's Ghost (Kimber, 1987: Tor, 1988 as 'The Grange') Tales From The Hidden World (Kimber, 1988) Those That Serve - 1900 Life Everlasting - 1963 The Cringing Couple Of Clavering - 1980 Home And Beauty - 1985The Haunted Grange (Kimber, 1989) There are also several Clavering Grange tales spread out over his collections including: The Door Cold TerrorThe Fly-By-Night The Monster ClubA Clavering Chronicle Tales From The Haunted HouseClavering Retreat Tales From The ShadowsTomorrow's Ghost Tales Of Darkness If we go on what Jones & Fletcher say, there are two more Clavering Grange books (one of which I assume is Kepple?), and I'm sure I've missed some of the scattered stories. Kepple isn't a Clavering Grange book, but it is a hot contender for worst RCH novel (along with pretty much all the rest of them). I think you've got the lot there, Dem. But I might be tempted to check through my collection once more.
