There is an earlier version of "Mr Justice Harbottle", which is called "An Account of Some Strange Disturbances in Aungier Street". Yipes! My 18th story of the month was An Account Of Some Strange Disturbances In Aungier Street, and after the disappointment of Henry James, and the mind bending of Ramsey, it was good to slip into a no-holds barred 'proper' ghost story. A mysterious 'not quite right' house, being alone at night, nightmare visions, footsteps stopping outside the door, this has everything, and then some. Hope I remember some of these recommendations for next year. Might have to do some checking in September.
