I found this thread absolutely fascinating, and it was this post plus several others in the Fontana and Pan threads that got me interested in registering officially for this board.
In occult circles, Christine Campbell Thomson (CCT) is known for her amazing magical diaries which were edited by Alan Richardson several years ago, along with the corresponding journals from her mentor, Col. C. R. F. Seymour. The latter, who was in Dion Fortune's working group, was a very early and articulate advocate for a Goddess-centered Pagan religious revival. Dion is usually described as CCT's teacher, but from reading the diaries, it's clear that Seymour's nurturing of her magical powers was formidably significant in what she was able to accomplish in the realms of magic and the occult arts.
It's so fascinating to learn that CCT was an enthusiastic practitioner of the supernatural horror tale. Yet another instance of how work in imaginative literature fed into what are often thought of as "new" religious movements in the 20th century, though the work was deeply rooted in the visions of an occult antiquity.
Many thanks to those who contributed to this intriguing thread, and my thanks to Dem Bones and others who have kept these boards alive over the years.
Sincerely,
Helrunar

I'll have to go through my hard drives to find the photos that were lost during photobucket's meltdown - until then, please find two 'new' pics of CCT - from the 20s and 30s.

Thank you so much for these, Primrose Hildebrand! I find CCT a fascinating figure. It's sad that the other photos in this thread appear to have been a victim of the Ph&t*f#ck@t Massacre of 2017.
The letter and photo from near the end of CCT's life were such poignant mementi. She was a really unusual individual, and I love that she wrote really shocking horror stories in addition to being a highly accomplished occult visionary.
Best wishes,
Helrunar

Turns out CCT also wrote juvenile novels under the name Molly Campbell, according to James A. Rock's Who Goes There: A Bibliographic Dictionary
