Truly amazing stuff. Strangely poignant re KIUD above as it was 30 years this August since poor old Mary M died. The stunt arse business has bothered me for years - strange, since I've never seen the film nor read the book.

A fifteen-year drought, and then THREE Everest greats turn up in quick succession. Michael Wale - The Bay City Rollers (Everest, 1975) Blurb: THIS IS the story of a man and five boys. The boys had the music and the man had the faith. The boys: five teenagers from Edinburgh who left school and called themselves the Bay City Rollers. The man: one-time Palais de Danse singer and lorry driver Tam Paton, who believed the boys would one day become Britain's top group. His belief came true but not before he and the Rollers had been through heartbreak and near-bankruptcy. And when they started to win his troubles increased as rival pop moguls tried to take the group away from him. As well as Tam Paton's highly personal and colourful story there are poignant contributions from Alan, Derek, Eric, Leslie, and Woody. Pages of never-seen-before photographs make this book a must for all Rollers' fans. And it is a fascinating story for anyone who has ever wondered why some groups succeed and others fail: for Tam Paton tells not only of his group's success but also how the pounds and pennies of the star system operate.John Sealey - The Ups and Downs of a Handyman (Everest, 1976) Blurb: "THEY'RE MAD! EVERY WOMAN IN THE VILLAGE IS STARK, STARING MAD!"
Poor Bob. All he wanted was a quiet life as the local handyman. But the village ladies had other ideas.
MAISIE needed him to do some work on her bed:
MRS WAIN got stuck in the bath — and Bob had to get stuck in too:
Then there was SUE, the blonde motorist who wanted him to look at something in the back seat:
And MRS BULLSWORTHY, who pointed to the pool and said: “I want my bottom scrubbed."
It was all Bob could do to keep his end up during the day. But when he arrived home, limp with exhaustion, there was Margharetta — his lovely, affectionate, athletic new bride ...
WITH pages of cheeky photographs from the wildly funny film Robert Leach - How The Planets Rule The Superstars (Everest, 1975) Blurb: Why is JOHN LENNON a rebel? Why did JIMI HENDRIX destroy himself? Why are SLADE doomed to break up? Why are the BAY CITY ROLLERS such a good team? Why is MIA FARROW happier with ANDRE PREVIN than she was with FRANK SINATRA?
The best-kept secrets of the pop world are revealed by astrologer Robert Leach in this fascinating book which tells HOW THE PLANETS RULE THE SUPERSTARS

Just casually browsing this thread and a light bulb went off in my mind when I read the title Shark Attack. Yes, I am sure I had that one. Pretty sure it was published to cash in on the popularity of Jaws. Don't recall much about the book after so much time, but I believe there were indeed some B/W photos included.

Thanks to the Bride of Dem for providing a copy from her terrifying collection. Leslie Watkins - The Sleepwalk Killers (Everest, 1976) Blurb: Simon Fraser, a Scottish millworker, was a quiet and gentle man who adored his baby son. One night he got up at 3 am and battered the 18-month-old baby to death. A jury found him Not Guilty of murder — because he had been asleep at the time.
In Covington, Kentucky, teenager Jo Ann Kiger fought a running gun-battle with a burglar. Her father and brother died of bullet wounds.
Twenty-four hours later she was arrested and charged with double murder. The intruder had existed only in her nightmare and her own shots had killed the two men.
Millions of people walk in their sleep. For a few of them, nightmare and reality become confused, and the result is tragedy. They are the Sleepwalk Killers.
