Woodford's A Pad in the Straw is of interest to me as I believe it was included in Rosemary Pardoe's The James Gang. Not absolutely sure if any other of the author's stories are Jamesian, though several sound like they could be.
I found a copy in a book shop years ago, from what I remember they were quite slight in nature, aimed at pre-war young adults perhaps, I remember a haunted sign post which was OK, and a haunted musical instrument, a serpent
"Cushi" is the only good Jamesian story in A Pad in the Straw. As "Cushi" is also in The Oxford Book of English Ghost Stories, my copy of the Aldine paperback of A Pad in the Straw ended up with Richard Dalby (I think).
