One of my favourite places to malinger on WordPress is unquestionably Sexy Witch, a blog-cum-site "... about sexy witches of all varieties: elegant, attractive, pretty, cute, hot, naughty and femme fatales; real life witches; people dressed up as witches; witches in fiction, film and art." As already mentioned to the point of tedium, i find the imagery of black and white magic incredibly alluring, but it was something else that first attracted me to the blog: Sexy Witch is a neat resource for trashy paperback covers. For example, in the 1970's section alone we find: Sexy Witches on Tandem BooksW*I*T*C*H: We Intend To Create HavocCarter Brown’s Sexy Witches And perhaps best of all: Abragail & Valaria - How to Become a Sensuous Witch: Spells, Rituals, and Recipes for a Livelier Love Life (Paperback Library,1971). Memo to publishers. This is what a paperback cover looks like. Reproduced here by kind permission of Sexy Witch. Blurb: Two of New York’s most successful witches reveal their occult secrets for a livelier love life!
Finding a new love, or getting rid of an old one, is simple when you use magic. Keeping the right man is easier too.
'How to be a Sensuous Witch' is a combination of time-tested rituals and up to the minute recipes guaranteed to satisfy you and your love.
There are spells to attract both men and money (poverty is counter-sensuous), to arouse passion, to assure fidelity, or (if you get bored) to separate your lover from you. The recipes range from elegant dinners to restorative breakfasts-and there is a whole chapter on festive Sabbats for your whole Coven! I think it's fair to say that Sexy Witch is slightly dubious about Abra and Valaria's credentials, and you can (and should) read her review HERE.
