If one threw the horror fiction of R.H. Benson, Adrian Ross, H.P. Lovecraft, and Jack Mann into a blender, the result might look something like Dark Sanctuary. At turns creepy, silly, preachy, and thrilling, it's entertaining enough to make me wish H.B. Gregory had written more in the same vein. The Ramble House edition includes a nice bonus: an interview with the 92-year-old author.
