Ok..as Dem seems to be on a sci-fi spree (where will it all end I ask?) I thought I'd post up a few titles that have plenty of action/gore/violence/horror/monsters...none of that techno sci-fi meandering bollocks. In pulp sci-fi faster than light drive just is. No one bothers to go around explaining why it probably couldn't be. Anti-Matter FTL Drive gets us where we want to go and that's it. So
The Expendable series. Available from used online bookstores.
(I'm really freaking busy at this moment, so will post a couple of covers and some blurbs later.)
The Legacy of Hereot by Niven and someone esle.
The Time Twister series. (Sadly never finished. Only 3 books I think.) The Alien Trace is book 2.
Busy as a tribble mating. I shall return with more tits (I mean titles) later tonight.
Cheers: Jaq.

The Expendables were convicted criminals. Sent out to investigate new worlds for suitable Terran habitation. Every new world they discovered could be a virtual paradise or a lethal death trap...but being a member of the expendables was better than rotting away in a jail cell back on Earth. Pure sci-fi pulp action with the men and women of the The Expendables...the ones no once cared came back from their missions or not. By Edmund Cooper, writing as Richard Avery.

Cord is an alien bounty hunter. He's searching for the men who murdered his family...and he has an entire Universe to hunt for them. Loads of sex and fast paced action, this is what Star Wars should have been like. Forget the Star Trek stuff...beautful naked (alien) women. Nasty monsters. Inhuman intelligences. This is what pulp sci-fi action is all about. Cheers: jaq.

Civilization on Earth was rich, comfortable and overcrowded. Millions applied, but only the best were chosen to settle on Tau Ceti Four. The colony was a success, an idyll life, the stuff dreams are made of. A new beginning on a new, wonderous world. But beyond the perimeter of their settlement, something is stirring and soon the the nightmare will begin. Probably the best sci-fi monster story written...and if you liked Aliens...you'll love Legacy. Cheers: Jaq.

Type the name of the author or the book into the internal search engine at: www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/For places to buy all the books I've mentioned in this thread and a whole lot of other pulp genre novels. Cheers: Jaq.

Before Simon R. Green started penning his long winded and repetative Deathstalker series...he wrote 3 novellas set in the Deathstalker universe. For my money the 3 novellas are much better reading than the DS novels. The novellas are all fast paced sci-fi action with a fair amount of eerie horror mixed in. The fate of the girl in the last story is truly awful. If you only read one book in the Deathstalker series...this is the one you want. This is the prelude to the Deathstalker books. The Empire that spanned lightyears, is now rotten to the core and its half-mad empress rules with a fist of iron. The stories told are "Mistworld", "Ghostworld" and "Hellworld".Cheers: Jaq.

@ Jaqhama: Do you know if the film Deathstalker has anything to do with the books, or is it completely unrelated?

I've watched some of it, actually quite entertaining, only left it due to having something to do online. I'd recommend it, if you can find it cheaply. ;D

It's a dollar weekly at my local vid hire shop. Until now I thought a buck a week might have been more than it was worth. But I'll give it a go on your recommendation. It's possible you'll owe me 99 cents.

Hey Bulletrider
May I also recommend the new SF series by UK author David Gunn.
Death's Head.
Book 1 was excellent. Book two wasn't. Book three is great.
If you're enjoying the Cord books you'll also like Tully Zetford's Ryder Hook series. 4 novels printed in English by NEL. But more printed in Germany.
Only available used.
Willaim Dietz has a series about a bounty hunter named Sam McCade..also good old fashioned SF action.
Cheers: Jaq.
