Now I barely ran into anything by him till now, and anthologists only seem to reprint only "The midnight express" and nothing else. Sure, I listened to the Mindwebs reading and it was wonderfull, but are there any other stories worth mentioning of his?
From Walking Shadows, Sea Tales and Others, I followed Supernatural Fiction Databases selections of which tales classify as supernatural, The Lusitania Waits", The Log of the 'Evening Star',The Garden on the Cliff. The first one is a very atmospheric ghost story and quite gruesome too. The second one is gruesome enough, though the supernatural is explained away. The third, its not writen badly, but theres NOTHING supernatural about it!
Then the stories I couldnt read (BEEP you , 1923 public domain limit!) . These are in The Hidden Player, Hodder and Stoughton (London), [1924] "Checkmate", "Beyond the Desert", "The Immortal", "Bill's Phantasm".
God strike me if I know where "The midnight express" actualy comes from.
Any recomendations?
