That's wonderful, Lurker, I'm so glad you enjoyed it (and got there on time!). Glad, too, it's going to be shown on TV - I must watch that. But being there in the flesh must have been amazing.
One question though, didn't either of the Terrys or Michael come to the stage door to sign things? That would have been a little disappointing for me, I must say.

Actually, going back to the "what have you collected?" theme of this thread and my obsession with autographs, your comment, Lurks, about chatting to Python fans at the stage door afterwards made me remember my last, most enjoyable Jethro Tull concert. This was the one where former drummer, Clive Bunker, had made a guest appearance. Chatting away to other fans (particularly a nice, elderly couple who'd come all the way from Ireland to see it) made the wait at the stage door most enjoyable. I think that's one of the highlights of autograph collecting for me - being able to associate it with a fantastic event, and meeting lovely fellow fans in the process. Like your Python experience, Lurks, that's an experience I'll always treasure.

No, the Terrys, Michael and Neil Innes all eluded us. I think Terry J and Neil were first to go, and at that time the multitude that had gathered might have been a bit daunting. I think Eric and Carol were both a bit surprised people had hung around for 3 hours, but couldn't have been nicer. It would have been lovely to meet them all, but, at the same time, I can't say I'm disappointed, because I had a great time, I met some of nice, interesting people, and I got to speak to some of my Idles... sorry, idols. And thanks to everyone who expressed their sympathy and good luck wishes following my Thursday of anguish (It was a trip planned with military precision... like the Charge of the Light Brigade). Yer a swell bunch!

A couple of photos from after the show. No idea why I look so grumpy here, but at least Eric looks cheerful. The ever glamorous Carol Cleveland with the never glamorous Lurker.

I look strangely pissed off in the photo of me with Eric (I think I was talking to him at the time, and it was just an unfortunate moment to click) i see what you were getting at now but it's still a super photo, and yes, Carol Cleveland is so glamorous she can only be a vampire. I don't think there was ever any danger of you looking 'strangely pissed off' in that one. The bride is well made up by the way. "So that's Vincent Scarybloke!"
