The chances are so remote, I wasn't sure it were even worth mentioning but, well, we know that Van Thal moved in publishing circles and ..... Alex White & Co. were based at Market Buildings, Woodbridge Road, Guildford, Surrey, when they launched this short-lived British edition of Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine in May 1967 (it only lasted through to the September of that year, ending on issue 5). I should stress that there is absolutely nothing about the stories to suggest the evil hand of our Alex White at work - they're the usual rum bunch of crime & murder capers you'd expect - but, as we've not exactly had an overabundance of leads with regard to the great lady's activities beyond the Pan Horrors, there seemed no harm in introducing some, doubtless, wild speculation. Or is it .....?

.... which would be a mighty big step to take on so flimsy a premise.
To be honest, it felt like a better hunch last night, but after a few hours sleep the idea seems a bit .... wishful thinking. There are doubtless more 'Alex White's around at any one than, say, 'Gaylord Sabatini's, so the chances of two of them having some involvement in the fiction world during the same period are not altogether unlikely.
Still, upwards and onwards, until we finally unmask this mystery woman for her pains!
