ooh. Can I pre-empt with LP Hartley, and Sarban (perhpas a bit later than normal).
This is a POD of the three Sarban novels available, but the short stories (actually mostly novellas) are only available in the (wonderful but pricey) Tartarus editions.
The pb reprints of the Doll Maker & Ringstones from Ballantine ignored the companion stories from the original hbs. And good luck on finding a first hb.
Oh and John Metcalfe? A reprint of one of the original volumes would be nice.

Yes. from what I hear, Metcalfe's "The Smoking leg" has some good things in it.

The stories that made it into the Ash-Tree book were excellent (well apart from that one about the were...., no spoilers).
I'd like to see a reprint of either "the Smoking Leg" or, is it "Judas" that the other collection was called? Was there only two collections of short stories? ... It'd be great to see some of the ATP collected stories available at cheap pb prices alongside some of the tales that were not reprinted.
Actually I'd be interested in the Metcalfe novels, or those of M Bowen, and probably others I can't call to mind just now.
I'm glad to see Wordsworth taking such an active role in canvasing opinion for additions to their series. I was very excited when the series was announced, and then for the first few months quite disappointed that the books were not making it to the high streets, although available on Amazon. I remember emailing Wordworth to ask them about getting the books into Waterstones/borders et al and recieving a nice reply.
It is a delight to see these books available at prices that everyone can afford and sitting there just ready to be lifted off the shelves of high street booksellers.
Much as I am a fan of Ash-Tree press, Tartarus etc. there was a real need for a good series of classic supernatural tales at a price that everyone could afford and which looked beyond the most obvious, and safest options. Wordsworth deserve every credit for meeting this need.
Best wishes - Chris

A quick update from Mission Control at Wordsworth. I've been able to track down a contact name for the estate of H. Russell Wakefield, and have emailed a heart rending appeal to allow us to publish a collection of his stories. I'll keep you updated on the results.
As I mentioned in a previous posting, one of the two prizes for voting in the poll remained unclaimed, so I have dragged Emma back briefly from her proper job to carry out another draw, and I am pleased to announce that lobolover is the winner of £50 in Amazon vouchers. So if you're out there, drop me an email at derek@wordsworth-editions.com and I'll get them organised for you.
Once again, thanks to all for your interest and support, I hope to be back in the few weeks with an update of plans for our 2010 programme.
Cheers,
Derek@Wordsworth

Believe it or not, the second £50 Amazon voucher still remains unclaimed!
I'm not having another a lucky dip, so here's the deal. If you voted in the poll (and didn't win the other voucher!), then email me at derek@wordsworth-editions.com. The first one I receive gets the prize, so look lively...
In other news, I'm still waiting to hear from the lawyers acting for H. Russell Wakefield's estate. Amyas Northcote is looking a good bet though...

Well done Johnny, Amazon voucher on its way.
Once again, thanks to all who took part, hopefully I'll be able to confirm our final selections for the next 20 or so titles in the next week or so.

Cheers, congrats mr horror. nice start to the week for you. Derek@Wordsworth Hi Derek That twenty or so titles will be the Wordsworth editions for 2010-2011? From the hints and snippets so far, that's definitely something to look forward to. Great news about Amyas Northcote who seemed to come from nowhere to do very well in the poll - he clearly has a fan-base! I guess Wakefield was always going to be a struggle, but thanks for persevering. Oh, and thanks also for giving me an excuse to go gallivanting around Soho any time i've a few quid in my pocket. That slightly disreputable bookstore on the Charing X Road stocks all your titles.
