I remember Dave Hughes as the guy that paid me for one of my first stories - 'Soap 7' in Works 7#. Hi Craig, Dave W Hughes of Works magazine was a different person from Dave Hughes of Skeleton Crew. In fact the W in his name stood for 'Works' so as to differentiate himself from the other Dave Hughes. I hope that makes sense! best, des

To the best of my knowledge it was four as a b/w fanzine, ten as a high street glossy.

Thanks Dem. I read the King short - didn't get the ending ( I assume it's a Republican joke?). Mark Morris' story looks more promising and I liked the Straub and Bolton interviews in #1.
I'll keep and eye out for the rest . Picked up a Midwich Cuckoos paperback from 1960 today with brilliant Paul Hogarth cover art which has nothing to do with Skeleton Crew !

KC Been so long since I read The Reploids can't remember a damn thing about it. Again to the best of my knowledge, King's not included it in any of his collections, so perhaps it would be fair to say it doesn't show him at his best. Reckon you'll get a lot more out of the Mark Morris story, or at least, I know I did.

Yeah Mark Morris namechecked Sam Fox and Linda Lusardi - he's alright with me. KC
