I can send it to you as an e-mail attachment (and to anyone else who is interested), if you like. Ro, that would be great.

Those are extraordinary finds, James! Some of those really evoke an entire vanished era for me. The Ballantine MacDonald editions with the Lin Carter intros... Carter's Tolkien monographs... van Vogt's Weapons Shop of Isher... the Asimov paperbacks... those gorgeous Shadow covers... ah, the memories...
The scene at the book fair sounds kind of scary. May health and happiness be yours!
cheers, Helrunar

What Steve said. It indeed sounds scary. Stay healthy, James!

Trapped in 2000 A.D. ... The horror!!! Oh Dear.
I like the cover for Black Wings of Cthulhu.
Just realized that Augie Derleth must have been a Sax Rohmer fan--he wrote books entitled Mask and Trail of Cthulhu. That's rather a giggle.
May Health prevail!
cheers, Hel

We didn't get flying cars in 2000 or cities under the sea, which is still a pity. But we didn't get those funny hats either you always see on those covers, which is a blessing :-)

All good - we haven't been too badly affected by Covid. One advantage of living on a remote island I guess. Good to hear, James. Again some nice finds. I really have to read van Vogt's Weapon Shop and Null A some time.

There are some lovely editions there. A few I remember from my bookshelves as a teen, or as posters from Science Fiction Monthly. The Shadow's nose is very generously sized! I don't think I've seen him abandon his .45 in favour of a .32 Mauser before. Clearly he has nothing to prove.

The last day was pretty good too - $20 a bag, which you could cram to overflowing. As my rubbish HP scanner is playing up, I took a photo of some vaultish pickings: asking smileysPerhaps the best deal was #1-72 of Parade for $20, a mid-20th century equivalent of those Victorian penny dreadfuls of 'true' hauntings, crimes, momentous events and such like: asking smileysJack the Ripper was in #55. There's even a 'photograph' of Mary Kelly's room, which looked uncannily accurate for the early 1950s, no doubt a reconstruction from contemporary drawings: asking smileysasking smileys
