James, is Shark: The Killer Of The Deep fiction, non-fiction or "non-fiction"? Looks like a collection of his own experiences in different parts of the world - there are photos.

It probably is - Zane Grey was a bit of a hunting, shooting, fishing type - especially the latter, angling being a big part of his life. Weird I remember that as I haven't read anything by or about him for thirty years! Yet it always stuck in the mind, like the fact that he came from a big city where his father was a dentist (I think he was, too) - as an early Western writer I'd always assumed he was part of the West, rather than a city slicker.

Not a 'find' as such, but an anniversary present from my wife, Hardback, excellent condition. Looking forward to this one.
Edit: Sorry about my lack of photography skills. Am too lazy to haul the old scanner out the back of the wardrobe.

Here's one of those nice finds - waiting for my better half after work, walk into the junk shop and see this for $5. Looks like the 1st edition with 3.95 on the dust jacket flap:

More classic ads courtesy of the pulps. These are from the Feb 1934 issue of Gang World and indicate something of the expected readership:

A few more finds: A lovely copy of this - surely one of the great covers. It's pretty crude pulp, but I like it - page 24: "Pierre Dure's face widened as Burt Winslow finished his narrative." Vern Hansen's collection The Twisters, published by Digit in 1963: One of the more interesting golden age crime writers - Gladys had an interest in paganism and witchcraft which comes out in her books. The Penguin published in 1954: My current favourite cover - Australian pulp published in about 1950:
