Great finds although they stoke a chord of misery with me. I feel for you Craig, I really do!

Brilliant. I think I'll remind him after a few pints. "Right bro. Wear this or I shoot to kill"

My daughter and her husband recently went to a fancy dress party dressed as Batman and Robin. But, being a big Only Fools and Horses fan, Cassie, who is five feet six, went as Batman, while Alan, who is six feet two, went as Robin.

I can only say David that is witty and they look extremely cool. Think of the miserable little kid wearing a pair of trunks, a cut out paper mask and a white bed sheet.

The things we did as kids! Though I must admit I was never coerced into wearing anything like that!

I would've said that the Robin look wasn't good for anyone, but apparently Burt Ward had quite the wild time during his days wearing the costume.

As that last post seems to have ended life as we know it, here's the nice Panther edition of J.G. Ballard's The Crystal World, for a buck at the junk shop:

Not seen that Crystal World cover. From memory it was a cracking read although some of Ballard seems to have dated a little. Just reread Empire of the Sun and although that was the death knell for his SF it is a tremendous book. I think Ballard is one of the few modern English authors to have coined a verb out of his name.

I've always meant to read Crash, but haven't got around to it yet. A biography of him recently appeared by John Baxter, author of the classic book collecting memoir, A Pound of Paper, but I hear it's pretty ordinary.
