Guys,

I', new to this forum and I need some help. I was wandering around my local car boot this morning and fell upon the mother lode - boxes of great pulp horrors in unread condition.
They were underneath a picnic table and the woman confessed she'd forgotten to take them out of the car! When I asked how much she said "20p each or make me an offer" I made her an offer and came away with 109 top titles (ie all of them) for a tenner.
Now my problem... I already have doubles of some titles so I guess I'll sell them - but I have no idea what's rare and what's not (I have a good library of pulp horror that I held on to from my teens you see, but have only collected never sold)...

I'd say most aren't rare ( but others might say different) - The Ghoul - Guy Smith this is one of your rarer finds ( I'd offer you a fiver myself).

I'd offer you a tenner for these 4 books total if you are interested? Assuming of course they are in half decent nick.

Using Bookfinder.com, I found a dusty but seemingly unread fine copy of Richard Dalby's THE SORCERESS IN STAINED GLASS (1971) at £7.75 (other very good copies are available between £38.77 - £63.70!). It contains a number of good (M.R.) Jamesian short stories that have not been reprinted since.

Found The Pike by Twemlow. Two chapters in and it is the BUSINESS!

Found today at car boot WITCHCRAFT - a 3 volume boxset of Arrow books containing The Black Arts by Rollo Ahmed, Witchcraft at Salem by Chadwick Hansen and Summers' translation of Malleus Maleficarum. Box is in brilliant nick and the books appear unread so a lovely little find for a normally bland car boot.

Other recent finds (last week) include a nice USA Pinnacle THE DRACULA HORROR SERIES by Robert Lory box set (sadly just the first 5 Dracula's) - though I have 3 of the others separately.

DRACULA LIVES! by Peter Tremayne .

It's a three in one omnibus of his Dracula saga incorporating Dracula Unborn , The Revenge of Dracula and Dracula , My Love.

Now I appreciate my Tremayne , but this lot just shot to number one! - if you like Hammer flavoured Dracula - you'd be a village dolt to not hunt this out. Brilliant.

Everything is "shocking". My favorite is the "shocking and detailed portrait of an amoral eighteen-year-old". They sure knew how to sell this stuff.

I have this somewhere. I still have to find out why Tremaine is so successful. I began one of his mystery novels but didn´t like it enough to keep going, thought Ellis Peters more convincing. But I am not big on all those Name of the Rose knock offs.
