Ha! I reckon Nigel Kneale had a similar idea first, many years ago, with TheYear of The Sex Olympics, which saw a family cast away on an island with TV viewers watching their every move, and then a crazed killer being let loose on the island. Hmm, in fact I wish they'd do something like that with the real Big Brother (I'm not a fan!).

You do know, Des, that these could be ALL the good bits and when we see the rest...?
I'm hoping for the best, but it's definitely with fingers crossed. All too often I've been disappointed in the past. Like the first series of Torchwood, which I hated so much I'm afraid I couldn't find the incentive even to watch the second to see if it had improved (though that would have had to have been an improvement of monumental proportions).

i got the idea from the main trailer theyre showing that it might carry on once theyve left the BB huse, which would be nice.
anyone see theyre remaking 'survivors' on BBC with freema agyman and lots of the young BBC luvvies...looking forward to it but worrying that it'll be poo.

Hmmm.
You're not convincing me, Des, but I hate these so-called reality TV programs anyway. Though the idea of the participants of BB being attacked by zombies...

I agree David. I hate these things - should called 'unreality' programmes. I wrote a story called 'Soap 7' more or less about the rise of these programmes and how they would take over the world which to my chagrin they appear to have done

And, of course, I blame Des. David

I wrote Soap 7 in 1991
I always proud of it because at the time it I thought it was about the only thing I had managed to get published and those b......s at Interzone (apologies to anyone from them) gave it the narrowest of rejections. Its probably the only thing I ever 'predicted' and I wish I hadn't been right - but as you say Des, the scope for horror in Big Brother is pretty massive

The Big Brother Zombie film last night was rubbish, imo, and I won't be watching any more of it!

really? why do think it is that bad?? i was quite impressed and thought it was a good start. 4 more 35 min episodes to go. i thought the social commentary and jokes were really on point. most of the characters were absoloute stereotypes but apart from that what was wrong with it??

The idea was good. But things got out of hand too quickly. Hackneyed news reports telling the story. And there were no build-up of characters - and the horror was stylised and unoriginal - and too many shaky cameras even when shaky wasn't needed. I like the Spanish horror films that were on BBC4 recently but it is probably my fault - I'm jaded with screen fiction like TV and film - too fabricated, too stylised, high definition, special effects.
