For the insomniacs and night gaunts among us, if you're stuck for something to do at 2.30 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) morning then 1973 classic Horror Hospital on BBC2 is as unmissable as they come! Brilliant mad scientist Dr. Storm (Michael Gough) and henchpersons (including his private biker army) plan to turn pop star Robin 'Confessions!" Asquith and Vanessa "Ooh! You are awful .." Shaw into mindless zombies because he needs a face transplant after usual lab accident. The Operation is a Success ... When the Patient Dies!.

Turn Robin Askwith into a mindless zombie? This film is tremendous. Michael Gough's machete-wheeled Bentley, a brief cameo from Dennis Price, and the ever reliable Skip Martin - plus the most tasteless ending in the world.

I once bought the VHS of this before realising what I was really after was 'asylum'... stoopid stoopid stoopid. But there's a cool fake-rock-band in it early on. And some nudie bits.

I know I'm posting on too many of these old threads, but I loved Horror Hospital when I finally caught up with it last year. If I were going to do a Vault of Evil film series, this would have to be in the roster.
Skip Martin deserves special mention for making something fun out of little bits that were probably added to pad the running time. Of the principals, Michael Gough, Dennis Price and Ellen Pollock are all deliciously tongue-in-cheek.
Purely for those who enjoy some tacky pulpy early 70s fun.
