Looked about but haven't seen these posted...the pub date on these is 1984 so I think they proceed the editions with Barker's illustrations on the covers. These stories absolutely boggled the grey cells the first time around. Still do.

And here is volume 4. I guess #3 snuck by me. I purchased these at the first incarnation of Forbidden Planet in NYC. Pub date is 1985. Not as striking a cover as the first two....these photo manipulations remind me of some of the covers on some of the Dover Publications supernatural collections here in the states.

See? You learn something new every day! :-)
I had no idea they were released as hardcovers with similar jackets first!
Thanks!

Dem usually unleashes a beast with too many mouths and several extra legs if one mentions valuable books but I have to mention that I once found the first editions as shown in an oxfam shop. I innocently bought them for fifty pence as I'd just read Weave World. Mike Don, of Dreamberry Wine, catalogue offered me 60 quid for them and I nearly bit his hand off... he later sold them for 120 quid I think.

well, it could be worth 50 pence or about 100 quid depending on a variety of things but mostly down to condition.

These are in good shape, but they've definitely been read. The price on these at the time (stickers are still on the back) was $2.95 each, as imports. The printed UK price on these is £1.50.
