Providing I can get up in time to catch the first train I'll be there for the Saturday.

Providing I can get up in time to catch the first train I'll be there for the Saturday. Ooo, I must watch out for you, Charles. Except .... I haven't a clue what you look like! Anyway, watch out for a gorgeous young blonde ... oh no, that won't be me! I mean, a plump middle-aged lady with a curly perm, wearing jeans and baggy shirt, carrying a bag of books - that'll probably be me!

I'll be the one wearing a paper bag on my head.

Oh bugger - due to unforeseen issues at home, I'm not at all sure I'm going to be able to set off for FCon on Friday. I might make it for Saturday though - we'll have to see ...

Sorry to hear that Caroline. If you make it on the Saturday, I hope you'll consider giving us one of your most enjoyable convention round-ups! Best luck to those of you on here and on Vault WordPress who are up for awards!

If you make it Caroline I'm reading at 6-30pm on the Saturday. You shouldn't be able to miss me - I'll be wearing a green velvet jacket and red waistcoat with fob watch.

walking cane with old silver handle might be required too I think it's probably me who needs the walking stick, Craig! I've had to take the hard decision to cancel - due to health problems with myself, my husband and the cat. Bugger! Still, at least they've refunded most of my hotel accommodation bill for the weekend. Really sorry I'm going to miss it - and especially sorry I'm going to miss your reading, John. It sounds like a must-see event! Anyway, I hope everyone who does go has a great time - and good luck to Charles and Des in the awards. I look forward to reading someone else's report on the event afterwards! ;D

Thanks, folks. It's nothing really serious - just one of those situations where a lot of little nasty things combine together to make things a bit difficult at the time. Bad timing, with FantasyCon too. Bit of a downer - but we'll survive. You don't get rid of me that easily!

Sorry you couldn't make it, Caroline.
Anyway, for those who haven't heard, Mammoth Book of Best New Horror 18 won Best Anthology.
More later...
